Throughout my research i have been able to develop an understanding of he messes it’s of children's book illustration and the role it plays in helping children in their development and imagination. This has also brought p the importance of diversity in children’s book illustration and how inclusivity allows stories and art to reach a wider audience, it also helps children learn about the wider world.
Found that a lot of artist work mainly digitally but the are still a lot of artist working with traditional media’s. The main thing that connects both types of illustration is their use of colour. A lot of their work uses bright and vibrant colours, this is to be able to hold the attention of the younger target audience and it is important to make the images and the illustrations interesting enough to keep the child engaged with the story and follow along with the visuals.
This topic i have found really interesting to research as it is a focus i want to continue after university. Learning more about professional practice and how people get work and what working in the industry is like. The pros and cons of the industry kind of go hand in hand in hand, a pro being to really make it/ make a name for yourself you have to from a lot of connections in the industry, however unless you get a job where a lot of people and possible clients are going to see your work then getting started and getting your work out there can be quite challenging.
Overall i quite enjoyed the project, learning how to create the website was quite difficult and at some points quite frustrating. However i found leaning how to create the website a useful skill that i will be able to use for the future. And if i were to do this again and recreate the website i think i would have liked to add more illustrations with more colours to them and played with the layout a bit more.
